Great posts are too soon relegated to our archives.
So resurrect a favorite old post and link up its URL here.
For better exposure, repost it as a new post.
Open to all bloggers; just no giveaway stuff

Funny … I was just thinking the same thing last night as I was reading my old blogs … I love this idea!
Pingback: Blog Hop to Resurrect Those Old Favorite Posts! |
This is a brilliant idea! I’ve added the hop to my blog, too!!
My gosh. Where have you been? Was worried about you and then the summer swallowed me whole. You ok?
Hey Sandra: I know my link is not creative writing, but I wrote it about creativity and the stu-dio-o-o. Please, please, please let it stay
Thanks in advance,
Sandi
Great to have you Sandi! No, this does not have to do with creative writing at all. Maybe I should make that clearer. It’s open to all bloggers. Just not giveaway stuff.
I thought that but wasn’t sure. Have a nice day.
This is a really great idea! Thank you so much for introducing/hosting this!
Glad you’re lining up! I really want to grow this Nd the best way is to Repost the old posts a new one ( not just link up old URL in archives) and to grab the code to putat the bottom of your post so your own followers will link up. A lot ofen pile aren’t doing that so really we ‘re still in the archives.

OK Sandra I linked up but couldn’t figure out how to put in an older post here–told you I am a dinosaur when it comes to this stuff. I need my son to do all the linking and code grabbing….and per usual I am up way too late at night doing this while everyone else in the house is sawing logs. Hopefully I did something right and it works out. Either way I like the idea of blog hops and I am glad that you are hosting one!
Yeah, that link isn’t working so I’ll take it down. To repost as a new post just go to the old post; edit mode; simply copy the text; and paste into a new post prefacing it’s part of this hop.
Then copy that posts URL and go to my hop page and add the link.
Also be great if you can copy the blog hop code at the bottom and add that in the HTML view of your post. You have so many followers, we could really get this going! But if thats too much then please just preface that it’s part of my hop and link it back to my blog.cthanks! Really want to have you as you’re such a good writer.

Woohoo! I am on!
trying to get some action over here. You’d think people would jump on this one; don’t have to write anything new and you get to reinvigorate old stuff! Best is to Repost, so it’s on your home page once again.
Just did

Thank you! Now ifi can just get my workshop up and running…
Hi Sandra, I would love to join you! I have a hosted WordPress site and it too didn’t take the Linky code too well, but I was successful with your “Resurrect Old Posts” button, which I put on the side of my blog like you have it. Exactly what does the Linky code do?
Glad you grabbed the button! It’s just to remind you to come back weekly ( Mondays) for a new hop. As to the code, did you copy it into your HTML section of your post
My WordPress hosted blog didn’t like the code, so I posted a link back to your blog above which I announced This is a Blog Hop! Yeah? Check it out!

Sorry if I’m being a tad dim, but when I come back on Monday where do I post my next blog? The same place I posted my first blog? The one that says “closing on 9/11/12–which brings up another question. Is that when the Old Post Resurrection stops, or is that just the sign up. Okay, as you can see I don’t get it and I’m leaving tomorrow on a trip that lasts until 9/13/12 and I’ll be on an unfamiliar computer. Help. Thanks.
Hi Rossandra,
Yes, every week I put up a new hop for you to link up on and hopefully grab the code; key is to REpost an old post as a new post, on your home page. That way you can getvyourvown followers to link up and grow out readership. Otherwise, it’s just still in the archives.
To grab the code, just copy it and paste at the bottom of your post. Glad you’re linking up!

Sandra, I don’t think I’m going to get a re-post done this week – I’ve got several other things to think about. I’ve been nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award and it’s surprising how much time it takes to work up one’s own nominees. You’re one of them! Go to http://termitewriter.blogspot.com/ to see my list.

Thank you! I know they do take time and I’m bad about getting to them myself but I will try this time; I’m embarrrassed to say I think I’ve been awared that one before but didn’t follow thru. The resurrection is open thru sunday so maybe you’ll still find time.
Hello,
I am visting your blog through Blog Hop Everyday. You have a great blog and I loved your content as a first time visitor. I am now following your blog, please check out my blogs too and return the love: Empowered Mommy and Pregnancy Forum
Thanks for your time.

Participating! I was just thinking about what to post today. This is perfect. What a great idea.
yay! did you grab the blogging code to put beneath your post so others can sign up? This is slow to get going any maybe because I’m asking people to repost old posts as NEW posts. Maybe thats too much trouble but I thought it would give them more exposrure.
I did grab the code, but I did the post wrong. I’ve since corrected and made my old post a new one! lol
I put the code on my resurrected post with a link back. It was confusing at first, but I think I got this better tonight.
Thanks for the challenge and inspiration. This was fun because it made me look back at so many of my older posts in search for “the one” I wished to resurrect.
Awesome challenge!
Glad Diane, you like this challenge…I’m trying to grow it and DO think the best way is to repost an old post as a new one. But I can understand why some don’t want to, as it may mess up their weekly posting schedules. So now I”ve given people a choice. But adding the code really will only grow the audience IF you DO post as a new post. Either way, glad to have you on board!

I’m a bit confused, would you please help me out? I can still participate, right? And, does it matter if I just “move” (with comments and all) the old post from a previous, private blog to my current one? I was thinking of moving some of my old favourites from my previous blog to my current one, and this is just what I’m looking for.
I really like the idea, I just need to know a few things and I’ll be good to go, I guess.
Would love to have you! Yes, doesn’t matter to me where the old-posts come from. The idea is to bring them back to light. I suggest REposting them as new ones as that will get more attention and also if you copy the blog hop code, you’ll get your own followers to join in. OTherwise, if you just link up the old URL, it’s only the ones who are linking up who will read it. Let me know if you that doesn’t make sense!
Thank you for the answer(s)! I’m sorry for replying late, I didn’t see this until now. I’m definitely going to join in. I will REpost some of my favourite posts and add the blog hop code to the post. I hope some of my followers will join in, too!
This is a fun idea. I have done it for a few posts of mine already
.
Great! I’d like to eventually make this weekly, but have yet to grow it enough to feel like can rotate it that often. So I keep extending the deadline for now… if you REpost it as a new post that’s best, and do grab the bloghop code so your followers can jump on . the best way to grow it!

HI, Sandra, thanks for this opportunity to resurrect our old posts! A wonderful idea!
Pingback: Why the typewriters, revisited — Alphabet Salad
Hi Sandra; I just saw this from the Writer’s Post over on Facebook and I am participating. Had a couple of technical glitches though. First, the script for the Linky wouldn’t show up on my post, so I did it differently. Then, when I tried to link up, it kept saying I was already there, but. it doesn’t show on the list. Oh well – I tried. :-p Cheers!
I see your link wo you’re there. Sorry copying the code didn’t work?
The link finally did appear. but. for some reason the Linky script doesn’t work on my post. Just tried them both, again.
linky had some notice up that they’re having issues so it may be them. Thanks for the effort! I’d like to grow this hop and for some reaso it hasn’t taken off; the one thing I don’t like about blogging is just that, you can work hard on a post, it’s up for 2 seconds and then gone! But the best way to make this work is to repost it as a new one, though most people just link up from their archives which isn’t really going to gain new attention I don’t think….
I think it’s a brilliant idea and would definitely prefer to re-post as new, with a little note of explanation at the top, indicating it’s a recycled post. Have done that before, as well. Thanks for doing this, Sandra.
yes reposting as new makes much more sense; otherwise it’s just the people who link up who will see it. Wish I could get more bloggers on board!
Amazing. I went to sleep last night with the exact same thought on my mind. I also have many older posts that are excellent, but they no longer get exposure. I also thought that Google+, with a direct URL link, would be an ideal venue for sharing some of my older work.
Thank you.
would love to have you, Daron. And that’s a good idea for Google +. If you’re on wordpress though I found out, there’s a plugin that will automatically recycle tweets of old posts…
would love to have you spread the word about the hop if you can. I’d like to grow it but having trouble for some reason. I would think bloggers would jump on it. But it needs to be posted as a new post, not just linked up from the archives. Otherwise, it’s only people linking up who see it…
I hope you won’t mind, but I just posted your Hop on Reddit! I used the category Blogging, but I don’t know if anybody will ever find it. You can find it by clicking on my name, Termitewriter. Some unknown person once put one of my conlanging posts on Reddit and I’ve gotten 1426 page views to this point! I was flabbergasted! I don’t think any of the views got me any book sales, but I figured it couldn’t hurt! Afterward, I read about the “reddit effect.” I guess I experienced that. So we’ll see it you get any takers through that.
That’s great! And I’m awed by your own result from reddit. I don’t even barely know what it is though I always post my blog URL there. How does it work?
Here’s the link: http://www.reddit.com/ Personally, I think it’s kind of screwy and complicated. After my post got on there, I took the chance of clicking on the view source and there I was, big as life – my mug shot and my post! It said who posted it, but it was a username that I didn’t recognize. It had several comments, somewhat adverse, so I felt compelled to sign up so I could comment. You can post any link you like in whatever category applies and then people give you rankings. The more good rankings, the higher you move in the list. You aren’t supposed to post your own blogs – that’s frowned upon. I really wish somebody would post a few more of mine! LOL
Btw, how did you get that Reddit button on your blog? I know you’re WP and I’m Blogger, but I can’t find any place on the Reddit site that lets you get buttons. Does WP just provide Reddit, because I can’t find anything in the Blogger gadget list.
I don’t know maybe it’s wordpress that just has the reddit gadget. But maybe that’s why I don’t get reddit comments:) I’m always posting my own stuff. See how much I know?:)
Just checked and we’ve got one “up” vote on Reddit! Was that you, maybe?
I glanced through their rules before I signed up – I always want to know what I’m getting into – and that’s where I got the thing about their discouraging a person from posting their own material. It’s kind of like spamming!
oh, well I guess I’m a spammer then:) Ive stopped redditing my own stuff:) and now that one person wasn’t me so that’s good! Thanks for doing that Lorinda.
This is a great concept!
Oooh, I hope you join up! I haven’t looked yet to see if you have…and if you do can you tweet it etc? reddit?:)
